SFEC Credit

Overview

The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) provides eligible employers with a one-time credit of S$10,000, covering up to 90% of their remaining costs for approved enterprise and workforce transformation efforts. It encourages companies particularly SMEs to invest in new technologies, process improvements, and employee upskilling. SFEC can be used alongside existing grants such as PSG and EDG, allowing businesses to maximise support through combined funding.

Update: SFEC credits can be used until 30 June 2026. After this date, the scheme will transition into a new “digital wallet” format as part of the Enterprise Workforce Transformation Package (EWTP).

Eligibility
Criteria

  1. Budget 2020 Phase: The company must have contributed a minimum of S$750 in Skills Development Levy (SDL) during any of the qualifying periods: Apr 2019–Mar 2020, Jul 2019–Jun 2020, Oct 2019–Sep 2020, or Jan 2020–Dec 2020.

  2. Budget 2022 Phase: The company must have employed at least three Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents each month from Jan 2021 to Dec 2021.

  3. Across all phases, the business must consistently maintain a minimum of three local employees (Singapore Citizens or PRs) on CPF contributions during the qualifying periods.

  4. The company must not be in default of SDL contributions and must hold an active ACRA status.

  5. The employer must not have been eligible under previous assessment phases.

Note: SFEC does not require a manual application. Eligible companies are automatically notified via their CorpPass-registered email.

Application Process

  • Verify Eligibility: Log in to the Business Grants Portal or SkillsFuture for Business portal using CorpPass to check whether your company has available SFEC credits.

  • Choose an Eligible Programme: Confirm that the selected programme or course is listed as SFEC-supportable and that it meets the requirements of the underlying scheme (such as PSG or EDG).

  • Apply or Enrol: Submit an application for the base grant (e.g., PSG) or enrol in the approved training, ensuring the invoice or contract is issued under the employer’s name.

  • Submit Your SFEC Claim: Enter claim details—including programme information, qualifying costs, and grant amounts—through the SkillsFuture for Business portal.

  • Training Provider Validation: The training provider will verify course completion through the Training Partners Gateway (TPGateway).

  • Agency Review: SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) or the relevant agency will assess and approve the submitted SFEC claim.

  • Receive Disbursement: Once approved, the reimbursement will be paid to the employer’s bank account via PayNow (labelled “SFEC”) or GIRO (“SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit”).

Additional Information

What’s Changing in 2026

Beginning in the second half of 2026, SFEC will transition into a new digital wallet format under the Enterprise Workforce Transformation Package (EWTP). Eligible employers will receive a fresh S$10,000 credit that can be used upfront without waiting for reimbursement for approved workforce transformation activities.

Key Reminders

• SFEC is allocated per business entity, meaning each company within a group is assessed separately.
• You can check your available balance and transaction history through the SkillsFuture for Business portal.
• Up to S$7,000 of the credit may be used for enterprise transformation, preserving the majority for workforce-related development.
• SFEC may be used together with other grants, provided all schemes’ individual funding rules are met.

Pro Tip

When planned strategically, SFEC can dramatically lower the overall cost of training and transformation efforts, enabling SMEs to upgrade both business operations and workforce capabilities with minimal financial outlay.

FAQs

Companies do not apply for SFEC. Eligibility is automatically assessed by the government based on SDL contributions, employment patterns, and ACRA status. Eligible firms receive email notifications via their CorpPass-registered account.

Yes. SFEC is designed to stack on top of existing grants, covering up to 90% of the company’s remaining out-of-pocket expenses after base funding. However, each grant’s rules must be followed, and double-funding of the same cost components is not permitted.

Employers can log into the SkillsFuture for Business portal using CorpPass to view their available SFEC credit, past transactions, and remaining claimable amount.

Unused credits will no longer be valid after 30 June 2026. From the second half of 2026 onward, SFEC will shift to a digital wallet model under the Enterprise Workforce Transformation Package (EWTP), providing a fresh S$10,000 credit for eligible companies.

SFEC can be applied to both enterprise transformation (e.g., digital tools, process improvements) and workforce transformation (e.g., training, job redesign). To ensure emphasis on workforce development, only up to S$7,000 may be used for enterprise-related initiatives.
