SCAM Alert

Fake Emails Impersonating Our Director, Mr Lau Wee Kiat

We are aware of scam emails sent to our customers by fraudsters impersonating our Founder and Director, Mr Lau Wee Kiat. These emails are not from eFusion Technology.

What the scam emails look like

Subject line: “Upcoming Website Renewals and Maintenance Review” (follow-ups may start with “Re:”)

Content: They claim a “recent review” found problems with your website’s performance, compatibility, security or functionality. They then ask you to pay $300 for a “comprehensive website review”, often with an urgent deadline and warnings about website errors or security vulnerabilities if you don’t act.

Follow-ups: The scammers send repeated, polite reminders asking whether you would like to proceed.

Signature: The emails copy Mr Lau’s name, photo and title, along with our company logo, website link and office address, to make them look genuine.

Known fraudulent email addresses:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected] (note the misspelling “efuson”)

Scammers may switch to new addresses, so treat any Gmail or other free email account using our name as fake.
